After creating a template using the Recurring JE Setup function you may use the Generate Recurring JE function to create journal entries form the template, except in the following instances:
•The recurring JE template is inactive.
•The date of the journal entry batch generated from the recurring JE template is earlier than or equal to the end recurring date specified in the template.
After you generate a recurring journal entry, you may post the journal entry; however, if you need to change any information you must amend the batch first before posting it to General Ledger.
To generate journal entries from recurring journal entry templates, perform the following steps:
1.Access the Generate Recurring JE function from the Recurring Entry group under the Transactions menu of the General Ledger module.
2.In the Generate Recurring JE page, enter the recurring Journal Entry ID of the recurring JE template for which you want to create a new journal entry batch. Review and amend, if applicable, the general information about the recurring JE batch. For a detailed discussion, refer to the Generate Recurring JE Page section.
3.In the Journal page, review the journal entries set up for the selected recurring JE ID. For a more detailed discussion, refer to the Journal Page section.
4.To save the recurring journal entries, click the Save button in the Transactions toolbar. AccountMate will display a message that the new batch has been created. Refer to the Complete the Batch section for the detailed steps on saving the recurring journal entry batch.
