Kit Items Requiring Prebuild

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

If a kit item is set up to require prebuild, you should assemble the component items first using the Build Kit Item function before shipment to customers. For a kit item not requiring prebuild, you can automatically ship such kit item since the system will simultaneously assemble the component inventory items during shipment.

On the other hand, disassembling kit items allows you to restock component items of kit items requiring prebuild. This feature is useful when the component items are saleable in the market and need to be stocked in a bin.

Notes:

For disassembling customized kit items, refer to the Disassemble Customized Kit Item section for a discussion on the steps to be performed.

Kit items not requiring prebuild need not be disassembled in the same manner as kit items requiring prebuild, since the former type of items is simultaneously built during shipment to customers.  Therefore, AccountMate allows disassembly of this type of kit item by cancellation of the shipped sales order or voiding the sales invoice that included this type of kit item.

AccountMate Enterprise provides the following features you can perform for kit items that are set up for prebuild:

Assemble Kit Items Requiring Prebuild

Disassemble Kit Items Requiring Prebuild
