Install AccountMate Enterprise

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

AccountMate follows the client/server approach where the different functionalities of an application are separated into different parts. It presupposes having a local user interface called the client, which accesses data from a server. The client is the front-end application that manipulates data on the desktop while the server is the back-end dedicated to storing and retrieving protected data. You can also have a file server, which is optional but recommended for increased performance. You can install the AccountMate application on a file server and have all workstations connect to it, leaving the database server to perform optimally on data processing.

Before installing AccountMate Enterprise, remember the following important points:

Verify compliance with the software requirements. Refer to the discussion on the Software Requirements page for more details.

Install Microsoft SQL Server if you have not previously done so. Be sure to select the Mixed Mode setting in order to support both SQL and NT Authentication; then, follow Microsoft's guidelines to complete the installation. After installing Microsoft SQL Server, be sure to reboot the database server to start the SQL Server Service.

Verify that you have administrative rights to the computer where you are installing AccountMate Enterprise.

Exit all Windows programs before starting the installation.

You can install AccountMate from the installer downloaded from the website.

Install the AccountMate Enterprise License Service.

If you do not install the license file, you can still use AccountMate Enterprise and access the sample company with certain limitations.
