AccountMate Enterprise System Manager is the control center for the entire AccountMate program and must be installed in order to use all the AccountMate modules. Featuring a new windows interface with a more sophisticated look, System Administrator initializes the AccountMate program and controls the system environment and setup, online help, multi-level password security, module and company selection and system date.
The System Manager module highlights the following features:
Transaction Rollback - Gives Users Additional Data Protection
AccountMate combines its full functionality with the power of Microsoft’s SQL Server. With SQL Server, transactions are rolled back if a severe error occurred that prevented the successful completion of transactions. This frees all resources held by the transaction. For example, when your network connection to SQL Server is broken, your application fails or your computer breaks down and is restarted, the network notifies SQL Server of the break and then the latter rolls back any outstanding transactions.
It’s only when a transaction is successful that all data modifications made during the creation of the transactions are committed and become a permanent part of the database. If you encounter an error when creating a transaction, the SQL Server erases all your data modifications from the beginning of the transaction up to the point when you save it. With AccountMate, you have enhanced investment protection for the long haul with better data security.
Store Data Forever
Data can be maintained in the system for an unlimited number of years, limited only by your available disk space. They are available for all years if they have not been purged from the system during period-end and fiscal year-end closing. This allows you to quickly generate reports for any period of any year, instead of having to store and search through masses of computer runs.
Supports Multiple Companies
The system can support multiple sample or live companies. Each company may have its own chart of accounts. Access to companies and functions is password-protected. Data can be copied from one company to another.
Install and Reinstall Sample Company Databases
An easy-to-use Install New Sample Company Database function allows you to install up to ten (10) sample company databases. The Reinstall Sample Company Databases function allows you to reinstall the AccountMate sample company databases. This is useful any time you want to start over with the original sample data.
Create Company Databases in a User-Defined Directory
The system allows you to create new company databases in a directory that you define. For example, you can specify that you want to store the database in “C:\AMDATA\,” where “C” represents the drive letter and “AMDATA” represents a folder in that drive, when adding a new company in the system. The “C:” drive and “\AMDATA” directory corresponds to the physical location on the SQL Server where the database will be created.
Localization Options
The General Options function allows you to select the localization language of the AccountMate application. The default language is English, but you can select different language versions including Spanish and Kuwait. If you have multilingual versions of AccountMate, you can set up users to use different language versions for the same company.
Error Log
AccountMate provides an Error Log that stores pertinent information about each error that you encounter while using the program. The Error Log tremendously helps you determine the cause of the error and solve it in less time. Each time you encounter an error in AccountMate, you have an option to e-mail the details about the error to your AccountMate Solutions Provider, AccountMate Technical Support, or any other person who can help you troubleshoot the error.
Perform Multiple Functions without Exiting the Current Function
You can access other functions without closing the current function. For example, while entering a sales invoice transaction, you can drill down to a customer or inventory file to set up a new customer or inventory record. This speeds up data entry.
User-friendly, On-line Help Window Always Available
The Help menu provides access to user-friendly Online Help for all of the AccountMate modules and information about the version and build of AccountMate you are using, as well as license and contact information. Through this menu, you can use key words to easily search for topics or sections regardless of which module you access. The Online Help windows put most of the information from the user manuals, tips, related topics, and even more at your fingertips.
