The Information Page allows you to set up basic information about the machine record. You must also define in this page the machine record's rate type, machine rate and the GL accounts to be posted when recording transactions of master items assigned with the machine code.
To set up general information about this machine record, perform the following steps in this page:
1.Click the List box button next to the Status field; then, select either the Active or the Inactive options. You cannot explode a master item on a work order or post work-in-process or finished job for work orders that entail usage of an inactive machine.
|
2.Click the List box button next to the Rate Type field and select either Per Hour or Per Piece options.
3.Enter in the Machine Rate field the cost of operating the machine based on the option chosen in the Rate Type field. The value entered in this field represents the cost of the machine resource either for one hour or per piece. You can change this value as needed.
4.Accept the default system date or enter in the Effective Date field the date when the Machine Rate is in effect.
5.Click the List box button next to the Work Center field; then, select from the drop down options the work area(s) wherein the machine resource is assigned.
6.Accept the default value or enter in the Machine Clearing field the general ledger account to which you want the system to post machine usage transactions related to this machine record. The default GL Account ID comes from theMachine Clearing field in the GL Accounts Selection of the MA Module Setup function.
|
7.Enter in the Last Overhaul Date the date when the most recent overhaul was completed and the machine was put back into production. The default date is the current system date.
8.Enter in the Time Between Overhauls field the amount of time, expressed in hours and minutes, before the machine will require to be serviced according to your machine maintenance schedule. If you enter a value in this field, you can monitor your scheduled machine overhaul and the system will use this as basis to compute the remaining machine time in the manufacture of your inventory items before the next overhaul. If you mark the Check Time between Overhaul checkbox in this page and the time to manufacture the inventory item exceeds the time before the next overhaul, you cannot manufacture the inventory item.
9.The Time Used field shows the amount of time in hours and minutes that the machine has been used since its last overhaul. The system automatically updates this value when you post transactions to work-in-progress. The system will use the value in this field as a basis to compute the remaining machine time available for the manufacture of your inventory items before the next overhaul of the machine as specified in the Time before Next Overhaul field.
10.The Time before Next Overhaul field shows the amount of time (in hours and minutes) available before the next scheduled machine overhaul, excluding allocated time. The value in this field is the difference between the value in the Time between Overhauls field and in the Time Used field. The system updates the value in this field.
11.Review in the Time Allocated field the amount of time (in hours and minutes) that this machine has allocated to work orders. The system automatically updates the value in this field when work orders are created where the machine is used.
12.Mark the Check Time between Overhaul field if you want the system to check, during work order explosion and posting of work-in-process, that there is sufficient time to complete the job before the next overhaul of the machine.
