You can update or delete substitute inventory item records using the Substitute Inventory Maintenance function.
To update an existing substitute inventory item record, perform the following:
1.Access the Substitute Inventory function from the Inventory group under the Maintenance main menu of the Sales Order module. The Search screen is automatically displayed when this function is accessed.
2.Enter in the Search field the item # whose substitute inventory list you wish to update. You may also scroll up or down the grid to locate the item #; then, double-click the item code to select. As soon as an item # is selected, the item's details are displayed on their corresponding fields.
Alternatively, you may use the full text search feature when searching for item # records. Simply click the Show Full Text Search button found in the right-most section of the screen to display the Full Text Search field. Enter in this field the value of the record you want to search for using any values in the columns displayed on the Search screen. |
3.Enter in the Item # field the inventory item number whose substitute item list you want to amend. You may add new substitute items, edit or delete existing substitute items in the grid.
3.1. To add new substitute items, activate a new line in the Line Items grid by clicking the Append row to end button or Insert row before current buttons in the grid toolbar. |
3.2. Enter the inventory item number in the Substitute Item # field. These inventory items serve as substitutes for the inventory item in the Item # field. Alternatively, click the List box button to select an inventory item. Once a valid item # is entered in this field, the item's description displayed in the corresponding field in the grid. |

3.4. To delete a line item in the grid, select the line item that you want to delete; then, click the Delete button in the grid toolbar. |
4.Review the information for the substitute items displayed in the grid. When you are done setting up the substitute inventory item records, click the Save button in the function toolbar to save your entries; otherwise, click Cancel to discard any changes you entered.
