The Disassemble Customized Kit Item function allows you to disassemble the built customized kit inventory item.

To disassemble a customized kit inventory item follow these steps:

1.Access the Disassemble Customized Kit Item function from the Kit Item group under the Transactions main menu in the Inventory Control module.

2.Enter in the Warehouse field the warehouse code where the kit item is currently stored and component items will be restocked. Alternatively, you may click the Lookup button to display a list of available warehouses; click the warehouse code to select.

3.In the SO # field, enter the number of the sales order containing the customized kit inventory item that you will disassemble.  Alternatively, you may click the List box button to select the sales order number from a list. Once a valid sales order number is entered, the kit item # is displayed in the Kit Item # field.

4.If the kit item to be disassembled has specifications, enter in the Specification field the kit item's specification.

5.Accept or amend the default restocking bin displayed in the Default Restock Bin field. The default comes from the customized kit item's maintenance record. To specify a different default restocking bin for all the component items of this kit item, enter in this field a bin from the selected warehouse. Alternatively, you may click the List box button to display a list of all receiving bins assigned in the selected warehouse; then, click the bin code to select.

Once you have entered a value in the Default Restock Bin field, AccountMate will automatically set the selected bin as the default bin in the Restock Bin column and display all the details of the component kit items in the grid below. The Restock Bin column will display the value "Multiple" if you specify in the Bins tab that the disassembled component item units will be restocked in more than one bin.

Note:  AccountMate only allows restocking of component items in the same warehouse where the assembled customized kit items are stored. If you want to restock the component items to another warehouse, you must first disassemble the customized kit item using the Disassemble Customized Kit Item function; then, perform warehouse transfer for the restocked component items using the Inventory Warehouse Transfer function.

6.Enter in the Disassembly Date field the date as to when the disassembly of the customized kit inventory item will be recorded in the system.

7.Review the values displayed in the grid. You may enter values in the following fields:

oRestock Quantity

Enter in this field the quantity of the component item that will be restocked. In the event that component item units are going to be restocked in more than one bin, double-click on the Restock Qty field to display the Bin tab where you can specify the number of units to be restocked in each bin.

oRestock Bin

Enter in this field the bin into which the good units of the component items will be stocked.  You may left-click the Lookup button to select a different bin from a list of available bins in the selected warehouse. The default bin is based on the value entered in the Default Restock Bin field. The Restock Bin field will be inaccessible and will display the value "Multiple" if you specify in the Bin tab that the disassembled customized kit components are restocked in more than one bin.

oSpecial...

The Special… field will display a colored reference code of SN or Lot if the component item is a serialized or lot-controlled inventory item, respectively. Double-click this code to display the Special tab where you can enter the applicable serial or lot numbers for each unit of serialized or lot-controlled component item that will be restocked.

8.When you are ready, click the Save button in the function toolbar. If the sales order also contains other built customized kit inventory items, AccountMate will display a message box informing you that the customized kit inventory item has been disassembled. Click the Ok button to proceed.

notes_c

Note:  If the inventory item in this transaction is assigned with a "Standard" or "Specific ID" cost method, AccountMate will calculate the cost variance between the inventory item's standard cost and total cost after the transaction. The amount of cost variance will be posted to the GL Account ID specified in the Cost Variance field of the Revenue Code Maintenance record assigned to the selected inventory item's warehouse.
