Set Up GL Module Parameters

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The General Ledger is the heart of an accounting system that serves as a central repository for collecting and analyzing a business' financial information. AccountMate's General Ledger (GL) module allows you to create accounts, budgets, make journal entries and track financial information. This module must be properly set up in order to record accurate financial data and successfully create relevant financial reports.

Setting up the GL module must be done first and foremost upon starting to use AccountMate. If integrated with other AccountMate modules, GL shares the accounts created in this module to be used in the subsidiary modules.

To set up the GL module, perform the following:

Access the GL Module Setup function to set up general settings as well as account categories, changes in equity, cash flow captions and transaction controls.

Access the GL Account Selection function to set up the default GL Account IDs to accounts that will be used when posting transaction in the General Ledger module.
