General Ledger > Set Up GL Module Parameters

The GL Module Setup function allows you to set up parameters within which you can utilize the GL module. This function defines the controls that will be applied during creation of journal and statistical entries and reports generation. It also allows customization of GL Account categories, Statement of Changes in Equity component descriptions, and Statement of Cash Flow captions.

To set up the default values for various records and transactions in the GL module, perform the following procedures:

1.Click the Module List at the bottom of the AccountMate Enterprise screen; then, select the General Ledger module.

2.Access the General Ledger Module Setup function from the Setup group in the Maintenance main menu. The General Information page is automatically displayed when this function is accessed.

3.Set up in the General Information page the appropriate parameters for the default reporting period, multi-currency, journal entry transaction controls such as batch numbering, account reconciliation, subsidiary module entries description, and statistical entry transaction controls. 4.If you want to customize the major account category names that will appear in the financial statements, go to the Account Categories page. For more details, refer to the Account Categories Page section.

5.If you want to customize the Statement of Changes in Equity components descriptions, go to the Changes in Equity page. For more details about this page refer to the Changes in Equity Page section.

6.If you want to customize the captions of your Statement of Cash Flows report, go to the Cash Flow Captions page. For more details about this page refer to the Cash Flow Captions Page section.

7.When you are done setting up the various parameters in each page, click the Save button; otherwise, click the Cancel button to exit the function without saving your settings.
