All kit items, regardless of whether it requires prebuilding or not, should have a kit formula. A kit formula defines the component inventory items used to assemble kit items.  The component inventory items can be stock or non-stock inventory items.

Note:  If you want to amend a kit formula, be sure that the kit item has zero (0) on-hand, booked, and available quantities; otherwise, the kit formula will be read-only. Refer to the Update or Delete Kit Formula section for more information.

AccountMate allows you to update or delete a kit formula record provided that the kit inventory item’s on-hand, booked and available quantities are zero.  If you need to update or delete a kit formula record with remaining on-hand quantities, you need to first disassemble the built kit item units before you can delete the kit formula record.
