AccountMate Enterprise allows you to assign serial numbers to inventory item units regardless of the cost method assigned to the item. These inventory items assigned with serial numbers are normally referred to as serialized inventory items. The Assign Serial Number functions in AccountMate Enterprise enhances internal control by allowing you to track individual units and their costs with the use of serial numbers. You can also print these serial numbers on invoices and reports.
This section explains how to assign a serial number to each unit of a serialized inventory item. You can assign serial numbers either manually or automatically. You can also choose to assign serial numbers either by item, by purchase order or customized kit item. You can also import serial numbers which reduces the possibility of keystroke errors.
