General Guidelines in MA Module Implementation

To implement the Manufacturing (MA) module, perform the following procedures:

 

1.Access the MA Module Setup function to set up the general parameters, default settings, and GL Account IDs to be used when creating work orders, exploding work orders, posting of work-in-process, or posting of finished goods.

 

2.Access the following Maintenance functions and set up the records necessary to create transactions in the MA module:

 

Inventory  

Machine

Labor

Labor Grade

Work Center

Team

Bill of Materials

Note: There are certain maintenance records, which you must first set up because they are required values in the other maintenance records; thus, we strongly suggest that you set up the records in the order presented above.

 

 

When you have set up the necessary records and have completed the prerequisites, you are ready to begin your normal cycle of creating and exploding work orders; posting work-in-process and finished jobs; printing work orders, routing slips and production slips; generating reports; and closing periods.
