To save time in creating bill of materials, you may copy an existing bill of materials record from the same company or from another company in AccountMate Enterprise. The Copy button in the Bill of Materials (BOM) function copies the parent item, specification (if any), the warehouse and BOM version information.
To copy a bill of materials, perform the following steps:
1.In the Bill of Materials Maintenance function screen, enter in the Parent Item # field the number of the inventory item for which an existing bill of materials record you want to copy. Alternatively, you may click the Lookup button to display the Search window where you can select an inventory item number.
2.Click the Copy button in the function toolbar to display the Copy Bill of Materials Record window.
3.In the Copy Bill of Materials Record window, click the List box button beside the following fields to select the record you want to copy; then, click the OK button:
•Source Company
•Parent Item #
•Specification, if any
•Warehouse
•U of M
•Version #
4.Review, and accept or amend the information that you have copied in the Bill of Materials Maintenance function screen. For more information on creating a bill of materials record, refer to the Set Up Bill of Materials topic.

5.When you are ready, click the Save button in the function toolbar to save the new bill of materials record; otherwise, click the Cancel or Close button.
