Assign Serial #/Lot #

The Assign Serial #/Lot # page allows you to select and assign serial numbers and/or lot-control numbers to finished master items that are serialized or lot-controlled.

 

 

Perform the following on this page:

 

1.Accept or amend the item # shown in the Item # field. The system automatically displays the serialized/lot-controlled item # in this field. If there are more than one serialized and/or lot-controlled item in the work order, you may click the List box button to select the item from the list for which you want to assign serial/lot number.

Note: The serialized and/or lot-controlled item # will have this identifying letter placed before it to identify if it is a (M) master item or (R) remnant item.

 

2.To assign serial # and/or lot # to the items, you may select from the following options:

 

oSerial/Lot # Template

If the item has an existing Serial or Lot Template, the system will automatically populate the values in the Assign Serial #/Lot # grid.

Note: This option is only applicable if the Inventory Control module is activated and that a template is saved for serial/lot-control number assignment in the item's maintenance record.

 

oManual Assignment

In the Assign Serial #/Lot # grid, manually enter the specific serial numbers and/or lot numbers to each unit of the unassigned item. To do this, perform the following steps:

 

2.1. Click the Append row to end button. The system will automatically add new blank lines in the grid equivalent to the quantity of unassigned serialized/lot items in the work order that you are posting to finished job.

 

For subsequent grid entries, you may click the Append row to end button to activate a new blank line in the grid or click the Insert row before current button to insert a blank line above the currently selected line in the grid.

 

2.2. To delete a line in the grid, select the line that you want to delete; then, click the Delete button in the grid toolbar.

 

3.For lot-controlled items, enter in the Expiration field the expiration date. Accept or amend the default date which is the current system date.

 

4.In the Qty to Assign field, accept or amend the number of available units that are unassigned a serial/lot number. The default value matches the Unassigned Qty field.
