Once you have done all routing steps required in a work order and production is complete, you may now post finished job for the work order. When you post finished jobs, it means that all master item quantities are completely manufactured. Posting the work order as finished will record the components and resources defined in the work order as used and updates the master item's on-hand quantity and costs.
After you record work-in-process for a work order, you can post it to finished jobs without first posting to work-in-process. This is applicable only if the WIP Automatically Updates Cost setting is activated in the MA Module Setup function.
To post work order to finished job, perform the following steps:
1.Access the Post Finished Job function from the Production group in the Transactions menu of the Manufacturing module. Click the New button to create a new post finished job transaction record.
2.Enter in the Warehouse field the warehouse from which the work order is assigned and to which you store the finished item or product. Alternatively, you may click the Lookup button to display the Key Search [xxx] window where you can select a warehouse code. The warehouse codes that will show in this window are those that have active work-in-process transactions that are not voided but also not yet finished. Once a valid warehouse is entered, all fields will become enabled.

3.In the Work Order # field, enter the work order that you want to post finished job. Alternatively, you may click the List box button to select the work order from the list. The work orders that will show in the list are those that have active work-in-process transactions where all routing steps are set to Done.
4.In the Finish Date field, accept or amend the default date which is the current system date. The date entered in this field will be used as the posting date for the finished job.
5.Enter in the Receiving Bin field the bin location where you want to store the completed master items right out of production. The bin code you enter here must be active and carry the master item in the warehouse assigned in the work order; otherwise you cannot save the transaction. Alternatively, you may click the List box button to select the bin from a list.
6.In the Finish Quantity field, enter the total quantity of the master item that you have completely manufactured for the work order.
7.In the Work-in-Process page, review and select the work-in-process transactions you want to post to finished job. For more information, see the Work-in-Process Page section.
8.In the Assign Serial #/Lot # page, assign the serial number and/or lot-control number to the completed master items that are either serialized or lot-controlled. For more information, see the Assign Serial #/Lot # Page section.
9.When you are ready, click the Save button to proceed; otherwise, click Cancel.
