Variable Allocation Page

The Variable Allocation Page is accessible only if the selected Account Type in the Information Page is Variable Allocation by Period Balance or Variable Allocation by Period Change. This page allows you to set up the allocation amount or the distribution percentage for the allocation GL account.

 

 

To set up the variable allocation for a GL Account ID, perform the following:

 

1.In the Variable Allocation Page, click the Append Row to end or Insert Row before current button to activate a new line in the grid.

 

2. Choose or amend values in the following fields or options:

 

oDistribution Account

Enter in this field the appropriate GL Account ID.

Note: If you enter a GL Account ID that is either inactive or one that has a non-posting account type the system will display a message that the GL Account ID is not posting or is inactive. You need to delete the GL Account ID and replace it with an active account or one that is of a posting account type.

 

oAccount Description

This is a read-only field that displays the description of the GL account ID entered in the Distribution Account field.

 

oStatistical Code

Enter in this field the appropriate statistical code you want to assign to a distribution account. Alternatively, you may click the List box button to select from the list the appropriate statistical code. To add a new statistical code, go to the Statistical Code Maintenance function.

 

oAccount Description

This is a read-only field that displays the description of the Statistical Code entered in the Statistical Code field.

 

3.To delete an inappropriate GL Account ID in the grid, highlight the distribution GL Account ID; then, click the Delete Selected Rows button.
