The New Company Database function allows authorized users to add and create a company database in the SQL Server where AccountMate Enterprise is housed. This function creates the SQL database and table structures configured for use in an AccountMate Enterprise company. The new company database can then be assigned to a company during company set up in the Company Setup function.

To create a new company database, perform the following steps:

1.In the System Manager module, select System Administration tab; then, click the New Company Database function. The Company Database Connection window will then display.

2.In the Company Database Connection window, review in the Server field the name of the SQL server instance name to which you want to connect. This is the SQL server instance to which the company database will be created.

3.In the SQL Authentication section, the options below will display depending on the authentication mode selected to connect to the SQL server instance when it was first installed:

oWindows Authentication

If this option was selected, the Windows user account will be used to connect to the SQL server.

oSQL Authentication

If this option was selected, the built-in SQL server system administrator (sa) account and password will be used by default. You may use a different username and password by providing the information in the Username and Password fields. You may need your System Administrator's assistance to determine the correct user account and password to be used in this section.

If SQL Authentication was selected, the Username and Password fields are enabled. Enter in these fields the correct username and password used to successfully connect to the selected SQL Server instance name you want the SQL database to be created.

Note: The SQL server's authentication mode is configured during the SQL server instance installation. Refer to your System Administrator for assistance regarding this.

4.Enter in the Database ID field the name you want to use for the company's database. The values you enter in this field will be displayed in the Company field in the Databases area.

The value entered in this field becomes part of the full company database name that will be created in the SQL server instance you select.

5.After reviewing your entries, click Connect to proceed; otherwise, click the Cancel button to abort creating a new company database. Once a new SQL database is successfully created, a pop-up window is displayed. Click Ok to proceed.
