In AccountMate Enterprise, you may cancel quantities in a master item job that you have not completed, such that you will no longer manufacture the backordered quantities.
The Cancel Backorder function allows you to cancel quantities of master item work orders that you have not completed. You cannot use this function to select individual work-in-process transactions for cancellation.
When you cancel backordered quantities of a master item job, the system treats the master jobs as finished. With this regard, the system returns to stock any allocated but unused component item quantities and cancels machine and labor usage so that these resources are available for other jobs.
To cancel backorder quantities, perform the following steps:
1.Access the Cancel Backorder function from the Order group in the Transactions menu of the Manufacturing module.
2.In the Selection Criteria area, filter the work orders that you want to cancel backorders. You may select and enter values in the following filter options:
•Work Order #
•Warehouse
•Master Item #
•Create Date
•Request Date
3.When you are done entering values in the Selection Criteria section, click the OK button to proceed. The system will then perform the validation process.
4.Work orders that have backorder quantities and meets the criteria specified in the Selection Criteria section are displayed in the Work Order selection grid.
5.You may click the Show (
) button beside each work order number field to show the summary details of each work order transaction. Review the information displayed in the grid.

6.To select the work order, mark the individual checkbox for each work order transaction whose backorder quantities you want to cancel; otherwise, leave the checkbox unmarked.
7.When you are done selecting the work order transactions whose backorder quantities you want to cancel, click the Save button in the function toolbar to proceed; otherwise, click Cancel to disregard the selection and clear the fields.
