The GL Period Analysis is a report that provides information about changes in the GL account balance per period in a selected fiscal year. The report is generated for an individual GL account and includes a graphical presentation of the data shown in the report.
This report has the following uses:
•To aid in verifying the movement of recorded GL Account ID balances with the actual business transactions.
•To help in understanding the overall operations of the company by investigating the reasons for the GL account balance changes.
•To aid in preparing periodic forecasts by analyzing the pattern of changes for each GL Account ID balance over a range of periods.
To print the GL Period Analysis, perform the following steps:
1.Access the GL Period Analysis function from the Analysis group in the Reports main menu.
2.Click the List box button beside the Configuration field and select the desired report configuration.
3.Select the report sorting option that you want to use by clicking the List box button next to the Sort By field.
4.In the Layout field, click the List box button to select the desired report layout you want to use in generating the report.
5.In the Type area, select whether you want the report to be displayed in Detail, Subtotal or Grand Total.
6.Mark the applicable checkbox in the Report Footer area if you want to Include Time or Include Printed By in the report.
7.In the Report Configuration area, define the desired report filters. Select the GL Account ID and the fiscal year that you wish to generate the report for.
8.Click the Preview or Print button to preview or print the report. Click the Configure tab to return to the report configuration page.
The GL Period Analysis function also provides you with flexibility to perform the following:
•Set up user-defined sort option
•Set up user-defined report layout
•Include notes in the printed report
•Export the report to various supported file formats
•Send the report as attachment to an email
