The Details tab allows you to add, edit or void a journal entry for as long as it is not yet posted in the General Ledger. Furthermore, this page allows you to set up a reversal date that will be the basis when to automatically generate the corresponding reversing entry when you post the batch.

To add and edit journal entries in a batch, perform any of the following in the Journal Entry grid:

1.Click the Append row to end button, and enter the appropriate values in the following fields:

oAccount ID

Enter in this field the GL Account ID to which you want to post the transaction’s debit and credit entries.

oDescription/Reference

The default values in these fields come from the Description and Reference fields in the Defaults section. You may change the description and reference for the selected GL Account ID in the journal entry by entering the appropriate values in these fields. These will be the description and reference for the GL Account ID that will appear in the reports.

oDebit/Credit

Enter in these fields the amount of the transaction for the debit and credit entry lines.

2.If you want to delete a detail journal entry from the grid, highlight the journal entry record; then, click Delete selected rows button. In the dialog box that appears, click Yes to confirm deletion; otherwise, click No to cancel.

3.If you want to insert a detail journal entry between journal entry lines in the grid, position the mouse cursor on the line above which you want to insert a detail journal entry; then, click Insert row before current button.

4.To void the currently displayed journal entry record, click the Void button from the Transaction menu. The system will display a message to confirm voiding of the currently displayed journal entry. Click Yes to delete the journal entry; otherwise, click the No button.
